The benefits of regular physical exercise hardly need spelling out. Improved cardiovascular health, increased lung capacity, stronger muscles, joints and bones…to name but a few. Less tangible, but equally valuable, are the mental gains – social contact, stress-reduction, enhanced confidence and focus. Participation in sport leads to an all-round sense of well-being.

MOTION IS LIFE

At any age or level of skill, performance in the widest sense is all about fulfilment and taking part. For the young collegiate athlete, it may be the chance to compete in a championship game. For the mid-life enthusiast, it may be beating a personal best. For the older participant, staying active is what counts.

Sports professionals know that barriers to performance come in many forms. Stresses and strains, injury, underlying medical conditions, poor technique and inappropriate equipment are among many factors that stop people from achieving their potential – or even keep them out of the game altogether. Whether the aim is promotion of active wellness, treatment of injury or long-term post-surgical rehabilitation, in many cases no one solution is the answer.

Active health is a journey, not a destination. We at Bauerfeind are dedicated to helping individuals remain active and pain-free throughout life. We are equally dedicated to working in partnership with local health and sport professionals to the benefit of those who consult us.

Our new Performance Center is a center of excellence where anyone involved in the local sporting and therapeutic community can access our expertise in biomechanics, sports injury and wellness assessments, and individualized active rehabilitation programs.
